Conditioning Research: Size Principle / Sequential Recruitment of muscle ...: I was re-reading Hillfit last night.   It is hard to come back to something that you wrote a few months before -  I keep thinking of ways i...

Donovan here, the main reason I am posting this is that he shows the evidence from our side of the rock why horse stance and other static chi kung training is useful. It is to gain high recruitment....think of that like 'gain' for audio. Gain can be high, then you adjust the amps, and volume and the rest of the system around it, the physical power and signal adjustment circuitry. If your nervous system is extremely 'smart' and can make your structure put the highest amount of motor units at any effort of motion, you literally have to 'turn down' the rest or you'll flail. Many martial artists that are strict traditionalists, especially in the states will have the 'jerk' right or not, to formal movements. Power training of various types, 'tames' the 'jerk', allowing the best recruitment of the proper muscles....that's a form of inner sensitivity. Just my thoughts from being from that world of training and falling in love with Girevoy sport. Hope you enjoy. Subscribe Conditioning Research blog, it's amazing.
